Run along the headwaters of the mighty Willamette River at The Dam Marathon! The event includes a full-length marathon that begins in Oakridge and circles Hills Creek Reservoir, a half marathon around the coves of the reservoir, a 5K and 10K along Salmon Creek and a mountain hike up Larison Rock. The gates to Hills Creek Dam will be opened specially for runners, creating a unique opportunity to run on what is a massive engineering feat. All races have beautiful views of the lakes and mountains of the Willamette National Forest. Dogs are even allowed on the Larison Rock Trail to run along with you. Courses include aid and hydration stations. After the runs have been finished, there will be music, kombucha, drinks, snacks and prizes awaiting at Greenwaters Park.
